I sincerely think America is trying something just for the novelty of it. I am a Black African and if not for anything the fact of my closeness (racially) to Obama should inform my choice. But I prefer Hillary to Obama because of what the political systems in the world have exposed us to in the past. Unfulfilled promises on every side... followed by admissions of inability to do so because they did not know what it was like before they took power. When Hillary says she's more experienced it is true because she at least has been very VERY (how closer can you get than share pillows with someone) and can really without wanting to pretend she does, imagine the problems involved in running a complex system as the American Nation. I think a tandem of Hillary and Barack with the former at the helm would be a blessing for America. That way, America will be eating its cake and still have it. By the end of their first term Barack would have grown into the very fine politician capable of fulfilling his promises to the American Nation and therefore ready to take over. AMERICA should avoid thrusting this difficult task on our dear Obama. And one part of me feels that the surging support for him now is a ploy for some people to prove to the world that even in America a Black man cannot succeed at what he promises to do. Obama, please be wary of this trap which is intended to send our hopes and aspirations as a race to the "calendes grecques" in order for us not dare dream of it again. PLEASE BIDE YOUR TIME!!! We love you.

I carefully thought about Obama being set up for failure, but I sincerely don't believe the masses of people voting for him is thinking in such a way. Hey, Obama is a very educated man and just as capable of running White House as a a white counterpart. I know the question of inexperience comes to mind. However George Bush is and was dumb as a rock.

I strongly believe Obama can surround himself with a bright administration and win, win, win!!

Such as the of Collin Powell and other brillient minds (white and black). I know he can do, we just need to stop being affraid of challenges and the doubt that has been planted in our heads and take the bull by the horns.

Absolutely, he will be taking over from a failed Administration with work beyond most people, but I have confidence in the Man. And yes it would be a Dream Ticket with Hillary(I love her too)but both are strong willed and I doubt it.

I would be most like that Obama would accept Vice Pres., but Hillary will not.

Thank you professor for your innovative spirit and effort. Africa would be a lot better of if her professors were as innovated. There, many professors trade their knowledge and expertise for jobs in corrupt and tribally sectarian governments and spend their innovative energies rationalizing and justifying oppressive tribal military tyrannies. Each and every issue is resolved by the gun. When the only tool the governments have and use is the gun(hammer) everything looks like an enemy(nail.) The citizens live in their onwn countries in perpetual quiet and submissive fear, like rats scared of the cat.

For example: America shook-off colonialism and now their former colonizers play fiddle to them, but only in Africa do you still find contries sacrifying their entire annual budgets to host their colonial masters(the Queen) and shamelessly parley it as a political achievement.

You dare to equate Obama with JFK? Have you lost your mind?

This isn't just apples and oranges, it's more akin to a glass of tepid water versus a raging river of fresh winter run off.

I have never, in my blessedly long life, heard such (expletive deleted).

That a candidate for office is black, of what ever ancestry, or a man, or a woman, makes no difference ~ it is the quality of the person and what they can do.

To tell the truth, I look forward to the day that Secretary Rice runs ~ I will be very happy. Brilliance & a true knowledge of how the world runs and what to do about it. (Oh, did you notice ~ she is African American, and a woman. Or are women out too?)

You "professor" designation, like so many others, if you haven't noticed, has been under scrutiny. Living in your ivory tower does not make you know anything except what you and your friends wish to know. You must be aware of one of the most telling political quotes of all time : "How could he win? I didn't know anybody who voted for him".

Just thank God you live in America where you are legally tolerated.

You are another(perfect)example of what is wrong and broke with America. Unwillingness to accept change and a fresh and new approach to a new begining. President Bush has made a mess of our country and used the fear factor of September 11th to continue to deceive us.

I'm African American and I am proud of this great Country. I have also endured racism but how I conquered it was my commitment to befriend people from every race and walk of life I could.

And I have been successful in doing so. I have friends form the middle east(Israel), India, Africa, and Asia. Some of my best friends are White.

So I say to you "EMBRACE CHANGE" because it is coming. And while you are embracing change, "EMBRACE DIVERSITY", because it is also coming to a Country near you.

GOD BLESS AND MAY GOD KEEP YOU STRONG!!
