Our children need to know. Rwanda is a few days away from commemorating fourteen years after one of the most horrific genocides of the 20th century occurred.
The fact that Politicians are trying to deny that a genocide occured is absolutely rediculous and maddening. Regaurdless of the circumstances THERE WAS A GENOCIDE IN RWANDA and to deny that is a crime against humanity in itself. How can it be the fault of unarmed women, children and babies that a polotician died in a plane crash? How can you say that the hacking, raping, torturing of inocent people isn't a crime against humanity? I don't know where they are getting thier information from but just look at the picture of skulls lined up at the memorial center or online. I think that it is a good idea to do a rememberance of this occurance will only bring the world knowledge and understanding of what not to allow. I hope that in the future Rwanda can find some kind of common ground a piece. It worries me, though, to here that the students are still segregated between Tutsi and Hutu. If there isn't some type of wake up call then you are going to have massive hate crimes in the future. Good luck Rwanda and best wishes!!!
PLEASE DO NOT FORGET TO REMEMBER THE "RWANDA GENOCIDE " and Let everyone remember his/her loved ones who will never come back.
Let us remember "Rwanda Genocide" which started in Gatuna on October 1th, 1990 and masse killings of Rwandans from Ougandan border to Rusomo,Bujumbura, Nairobi,Yaoundé, Brussels, Bukavu and Goma, ....and in DRC.
We have to remember especially the President of Rwanda Juvenal Habyarimana and President of Burundi Cyprien Ntaryamira killed on April 6th, 1994. The same for Gen Maj Rwigema, Maj Bunyenyezi,...in October 1990.
Let us remember the "Tutsi Genocide" on April 7th, 1994 - The Most Spoken One - and do not forget Hutu masse murders and killings which are going on and on since October 1st, 1990.
For all of us , let us remember every single person who died in Rwanda- Rwandan or foreigner - or elsewhere because of war or Liberation War or Civil War or Rwanda - Ouganda War..
Rwanda Genocide is still going on. Let us do something to stop it.
We do not have the right not to remember those Rwandans who are still refugees when we are signing peace, justice and reconciliation in Rwanda.
RWANDANS HAVE TO HEAL THE WOUNDS BY MAKING WITH THEMSELVES!
Let us Rwandan refugees must return home in order to prevent a new Liberation War.
Refugeecrisis
The genocide in Rwanda was an embarassement to the world. The problems is, the people who stoped the genocide in Rwanda, they crossed the Democratic Republic of Congo to avenge the dead. About 800,000 tutsi were killed in Rwanda but more than 3,000,000 Hutus than includes women and children were massacred in the refugee camps in the Congo, and the UN has failed to ask the Rwandan government what, they did to all those refugee. I am a survivor who was chased by the Tutsi Rwandan government through the hills of Congo. I was 13years old. I walked 3000km by foot. I was saw and heard Tutsi killing hutus. Not only the Hutu were killed, even Congolese who hide any hutu was massacred. it is sad the wolrd is blind, hutus are still being killed in Rwanda using machines that grinds them to death. The government has a compaign of eliminating every hutu intellectual by falsely accusing them of genocide. it is time the wolrd to wake up, and understand that there is something fishy about the genocide that took place in Rwanda.
stop stop stop: the rwandans conflict does not resume to genocide;why anyone who tries to point out facts and consequences from this is systematicaly accused of revisionism and negationism of genocide? this is not making room for reconciliation, caring for victims on one side and ignoring those on the other side will lead to more anger and that might explode in our faces later... my conviction is that most rwandans know exactly what happened who did what, how this came to happen and given opportunity, everyone can assume his responsibility.so this kind of writings is destinated to the international community in an attempt to influence the understanding of rwandan conflict! on long term it is not beneficial to rwandans!
on the other hand i admit that some rwandans that are close to the ancient regime (habyarimana)are negationists, the same way some rwandans consider all hutus as killers and deny them the right to express themselves.rarely these are the ones who most suffered from this crisis!!let us not play their game,no division among rwandans! peacefully yours
