Liberia: FLY Attributes Armed Robbery to Unemployment of Youth - The Inquirer

The Federation of Liberian Youth (FLY) has attributed the increasing wave of armed robbery and other crimes in the society to the high level of unemployment of the Liberian youths.

Author: quamellen

I did agree with FLY that, the unemployment of youths is causing serious problems for the nation, Liberia.According to the disengagement theory, the older people need to relinquish power to the younger ones in society. This Theory allows young people to take over from the older force in society. These young people can only take over from the older ones if they are prepared to lead the nation. However, the older ones are refusing to do so,because they have denied our young people from assuming power that equipps then from the wicked hands of the older force in society.Again, how can Liberia develop if the older ones are not allowing us to take over from them.We should know that the growth of the nation depends on the younger ones in our society. If our youths are socialized to head special tasks ,they will seriously perform it to the best of their ability.they rather prefer our youths to be used as raw materials for crime in society.Furthermore, our young people need to be educated for the reconstruction of liberia. For example, let us provide job opporunity for our young people and see if they will go back to the bush for any clandestine activities. But ,they the elites of society, depend on our youth for crime that gives them power .I will let to call on the Liberians government to provide job opportunity to our young people and see if they will cause trouble.
