The soft approach by This Day Editorial can not solve the frequent problem of harassment of Nigerians abroad and lack of respect for our country as demonstrated by the BA attitude to the Nigerian Government. The denigration of Nigerian nationals by both British government and British Service Providers like the British Airways is better imagined than described and could be traceable to pre/post independence. What we are witnessing today is a culmination of events this added to the growing awareness by the Nigerian national and their government that enough is enough.

The Brits treat Nigerians with disdain but use fancy and diplomatic language to white wash their denigration of their major ally and staunch member of the Commonwealth of Nations a Neo-colonial committee of nations to foster colonialism. To complain and protest against the British government is like instructing a wide hungry Lion not to eat its prey of course the rest is history. Britain has been a safe heaven for the Nigerian Looters until the war on terrorism began. Now they are the champion of catching the looters because they have finally found out the impact of harboring the looters at the expense of Nigeria giving rise to radicalism in the so called countries.

The only magic panacea is to speak the language of economics to boycott all patronage to British businesses especially Airways and tourism and trade because the British Pound knows no boundary whether you are African of European. Asia and America have opened a new frontier to replace the natural allegiance that Nigeria showed to Britain and it only then would the Brits accord Nigeria the respect it deserves
