Nearly 10,000 victims of the post-election violence were resettled in their homes as the process of ending the nightmare that started with December's disputed presidential election got underway.
The Government should not just be seen to act by resettling the IDPS. More needs to be done. IDPS that feel uncomfortable going back to their homes should not be forced.MPS from central should not simply force resettlement in Riftvalley to prove a point. IDPS should be listened to because if they are attacked again, those MPS will not give them back their lives! IDPS in Nyeri that do not want to go back to Riftvalley should challenge the MPS from central starting with Kibaki, Uhuru etc to part with some of their land for their resettlement. Same with other areas, the politicians should face up to the unfair distribution of land and wealth in Kenya. The Luos who are displaced too should challenge the likes of Raila to part with huge lands owned by the Odinga family. This is the time for Kenyans to rise up and claim what belongs to them. It is not simply resettling people but to ask questions on how just it is for individuals to own such huge lands as the likes of Nyachae, Kenyatta family,Njenga Karume, Odinga family and the list is endless yet these people claim to be men of the people.
