Namibia: RDP, Swapo Nearly Clash - New Era

A Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP) meeting which was scheduled to take place in Okuryangava, Windhoek, on Saturday was called off at the last minute after confrontation between RDP and Swapo Party members.

I think Namibians we have to be tolerant towards each other. Lets not let political influences divide us. Every Namibian have the right to form and join any political party of his choice. I don't agree with Mr Nambinga statement when he say that our president have to call the SWAPO supporters to order. Mr Nambinga you left Swapo a few months ago and you know SWAPO supporters better than I do. If i may ask what did you do to promote political tolerant before you join RDP. I can remember his excellency president Pohamba once said that we need opposition parties to challenge the goverment. Namibians in general need to be educated that in a democratic country the right to belong to any party is granted to everybody by our constitution.We must not add more salt to our speeches by comparing anything happening between SWAPO and RDP to the Zimbambwe situation.All our leaders must lead by examples when they are in SWAPO and after joining new parties. Lets safeguard the peace we are enjoying in our beloved country.
