The level of patriotism of the recent past senate as well as the present senate which demonstrates how TRIBALISM controls the Nigerian polity is depicted in this revelation by chief Anenih. Chief Anenih points out how the former senate delayed some of the contracts for over two years by delibrately delaying payment to the contractors leading to not only delays in contract completion but in increased costs causing great inconvinience to the citizens and inflating very unnecessarily the cost of these projects. It was also pointed out by Gov. Liyel Imoke how the former senate during President Obasanjo's administration delayed the approval for some of the power projects by about three years which resulted in the projects not being completed as planned partly resulting in the blackouts in the country. This is part of the effects of TRIBALISM in the polity by people who do not understand how a NATION should be run and the pride of belonging to a viable NATION. Furthermore, chief Anenih pointed out how the present senate decide to delibrately pick an inflated sum of N300b or N200b as the money he spent as works minister instead of N123b. This is in tune with the approach by the Elumelu power probe which is using the inflated sum of $16b instead of $5.2b as pointed out by President Obasanjo. Control of the polity in Nigeria using TRIBALISM takes many forms and it shows how very unpatriotic with low sense of understanding the players are but it has the resultant effect of progressively destroying the country causing serious suffering to the citizens.
