The recent avalanche of insults and negative publicity directed towards Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe cannot leave any keen African observer indifferent.
Aggmu5450, this is an excellent response to well-written article.
While we african people are kept busy pointig fingers to white man, our governments are busy filling in their pockets.
Intelligent people look ahead creating a prosperous future, but others are trying to go ahead, with their eyes kept in the past.
Walking ahead but looking at the back is running dangerous risks.
To Flo,
And the westerners out of fear of exposition of their long covertly organized looting and plundering of land and natural resources of africans and down pressed races around the globe are busy striving to cement their shattering imperialistic dominancy under the pretext of democracy, rule of law and human rights.hahaha..........
flo, iv jus created an account to comment on your quote, "intelligent people look ahead creating a prosperous future, but others are trying to go ahead, with their eyes in the past." thats a very wise quote, u shud copyright it if its yours, and if it is i give you top respect for it.
To Flo, The past is always the best guide for the future. They say, "forget the past, you run the risk of repeating it"
I DO STRONGLY AGREE WITH YOU. YOU CAN'T BEAT THIS SCRIPT,OR NOTHING ELSE CAN. HE/SHE IS RIGHT ON THE POINT - MAJOR POINTS!!!
You Zimbabweans claiming to be Mugabe's supporters we know about you very much. You are the guys benefitting from the loot which resulted from Mugabe's misrule and corruption of his government. The Zimbabwean situation is a topical issue today; let us not compare Mugabe to anybody else, what he is doing is wrong!!!!!!!! Other people's wrongs do not make Mugabe right and your failure to condem them should not imply that Mugabe must be left alone. Communism and the repression that goes with it has failed the world over, even China sees that today. If independence meant chasing the whiteman so that Mugabe can torture and kill his own then I would have preferred Rhodesia!
All you guys have no idea about what democracy is, beating people into submission and killing them is a tactic very strange in these part of Africa. Mugabe knows that his own people do not want him that is why he is playing these dirty tricks.I know why people like Aggmu5450 are supproting him. But the people of Zimbabwe will win one day.
Hey man educate you self about what is really going on

The Globalization Tapes Watch Online. Download The Globalization Tapes Documentary By Indonesian workers IFIs and Sukarno Throughout the 1950s and early 1960s, the Indonesian economy faced a crisis caused by the sudden drop in the world market price for natural rubber, at that time the country's main export. The US and the World Bank seized on this "opportunity" and lobbied the left-wing Sukarno government to receive a delegation from the World Bank. The delegation offered substantial loans to Indonesia conditional upon the implementation of severe austerity measures and the denationalization of the previously foreign-owned sector the economy. The World Bank package was rejected and President Sukarno confronted the US ambassador before a mass rally in Jakarta with the cry: "Go to hell with your aid!". IFIs and Suharto However the IFIs were back as soon Suharto came to power in a coup de ta orchestrated by the West In October 1966, Suharto adopted a "stabilisation plan" formulated with the "assistance" of the IMF and reversed all the nationalisation measures of the Sukarno government. The IMF insisted on the abolition of all discrimination against foreign investment and all preferential treatment for the public sector. It also demanded the abolition of the system of controls on foreign exchange that had existed under Sukarno, as well as a limit on government expenditure of no more than 10% of national income. As part of gaining the IMF's "assistance", Suharto introduced the Foreign Investment Law in 1967. This gave foreign investors a five-year tax holiday and an additional five years of tax discounts. Control over the Suharto regime's economic policies was exercised by the IMF and the World Bank through the Inter-Governmental Group on Indonesia (IGGI and later re-named CGI). This body emerged out of discussions in 1966 among Indonesia's creditors. By 1967 it included the United States, Japan, West Germany, Britain, the Netherlands, Italy, France, Canada, and Australia, as well as the IMF and the World Bank. Each year, the World Bank prepared a "Report on Indonesia's Recent Performance" which was discussed at an IGGI meeting where representatives of the Indonesian government were also present. A few months after that examination, a second IGGI meeting would be held to assess how much "aid" (i.e. loans) would be provided to Indonesia. What is the cost Indonesia pays Massive perpetual debt Loss of sovereignty Relinquish control of your country to outside domination
Fight on Mr Mugabe you Great AND NOBLEST of Africa’s protector Warriors May the Gods and the Spirits of Mother Africa support you in you fight against the Anglo Saxon Hydra headed monsters and their surrogates
I'm sorry, how is this post relevant to this article? Why do you continually cut and post your comments from one string to the next? What if everyone did that? Do you think that you have written a master piece and the more places your copy it too, the more praise your ego will receive? Do you think your voice needs to be heard 100 times while everyone else just the once? Do you think you are that much more special than everyone else?

Thats right brother a white man will never give you his used rubbers!!
If the devil gives Mugabe a few more years in this planet, then we will all assist Mugabe throwing away the chinese to whom he is selling his country now, together with the remaining zimbabweans left in his farm (Zimbabwe).
Just look at his face, he even copies Hitler´s looking.
If you want to know a man, just look at his work.
Are you blind or what? Zimbabwe is not Mugabe´s peace of land were he plants his vegetables. It is a territory, with people living on it, and thsese people, in the XXI century, should have the right to choose who they want to be governed by.
The man is schezophrenic and someone should have advised him, that is time to leave with dignity, and give his chair to young blood, new ideas, so Zimbabwe will becoma a free country.
" and thsese people, in the XXI century, should have the right to choose who they want to be governed by." And they did by a majority of 85% despite the efforts of the powerful West and their for-hire UTs.
Guys,we can figh all we like with all kinds of words, but the fact remains that our African brothers and sisters are suffering...It is not Bob suffering, but innocent citizens of Zimbabwe....Lets face it,we cant leave in isolation from the West as you call it..we have to recogniose the fact that nowadays the world is like a village...No man is and island....Bob must consider stepping down for the good of the Zimbabwean citizens...He has done his part...
you're kidding me right? You tihnk 85% of the people willingly voted for who they wanted too? Dont be rediculous. The AU, and SADC all agree that the elections werent free nor fair. Stop insulting peoples intellect and trying to pass off your dumb comments as fact.
Ok DA, you tell me how over 2 million people were forced to vote for a candidate that they didn't want. If you had any intelligence you wouldn't post anything so obviously stupid. "The AU, and SADC all agree that the elections werent free nor fair.". Yet another lie posted by you. The AU said that the elections were peaceful and conducted under the electoral laws of Zimbabwe. SADC views were split between Africans with intelligence and pride who supported the outcome and AUTs with neither and who supported the foreign- promoted divide and rule agenda.
Aaaah dLoser, once again you show yourself to be stupid. I dont really need to reply to you, as readers can see this quite clearly for themselves, but just to put some evidence down that you cant dispute, please see the following. 1)You say "The AU said that the elections were peaceful and conducted under the electoral laws of Zimbabwe." What a joke! what planet have you been living on? http://allafrica.com/stories/200806301236.html To quote "The Election Observer Mission of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) declared that polling "did not represent the will of the people of Zimbabwe," and the Pan-African Parliament's mission said the election was not free and fair." and http://sanfrancisco.tribe.net/listing/ALL-LOVEALUTIONARIES-OF-TRUTH-JUSTICE -AND-FREEDOM-MUST-READ-THIS-NOW/san-francisco-ca/0e1160b1-f3ef-4c98-ab02-d2 c08ec214cd To quote "The UN Secretary General and election observers from the African Union and Southern Africa Development Community have condemned the run off election as illegitimate" So once again I have provided evidence to expose your lies. Unless you have some evidence to show otherwise? Please enlighten us. You think everyone is so stupid to believe your lies, and then people correct you and you dont respond. So I await your response. And please provide some evidence to support your 'facts' otherwise I shall just find evidence myself and prove you are a big fat liar all over again.
Apart from other 'African evils' Mugabe might have committed, the current situation where the western world wants us to see our African leaders through their(western)eyes leaves alot to be desired. The issue of land is an HUMAN RIGHT the world over. Bob was the whiteman's darling until he touched the burning question of land. Here in Kenya, most of our leaders use title deeds to find their way to parliament. And so they did this time. The lands minister in the grand coalition was the first casualty when he tried to blow the whistle on the '99years lease' of land which has so far expired.Whatever happenned thereby noone knows,he went dead silent and the ever active whistle blower- cum activist kept mum and turned his attention to his cabinet colleague on the same! Our self proclaimed lands activists never said anything about this historical theft in the name of 99year land lease. Most are funded by the west so you may conclude. They see land grabbing only when their country men do it but not when settlers' leases expire. Some have the audacity to represent the settlers in court against their own. What basphame!? There is no point for Africa to beg when their means of production is at risk of extinction throught settlers whether percieved or real. At that level I understand bro Bob.What is free and fair elections without freedom to your own land? Thats why I support Bob than Mandela(who cerebrates his birthdays with the west)and Bush. With those few..Sir, I beg to move....
You, jdoser and the other are insane. The West, the West you are using their language, technology and everything. An African is selfish and doesent what to share that is what you are the three of you. Mugabe doesent what to go because he is enjoying the little resourse left in Zimbabwe at the expense of us all. What is that he thinks of himself, look at 60% income tax that he wanted to impose on our earnings what is that, now he takes away 47% tax on my salary isnt that slavery. You call it slavery when its being done by the West but when its being done by a fellow African you call it pan-Africanism, African democracy.
You can always emigrate to your Motherland England and get away from those Africans who are enslaving you my friend! For the record we're using technology discovered and developed by everybody, not just the West (whites) and I'm using their language because during their hundreds of years of slavery and colonialism in Africa I was robbed of my own language. Had the Africans taken the same route much of the world would probably be speaking Shona, Yoruba, Swahili and Hausa. So what is your point? I'll bet that you believe that they built the Pyramids also. Psst, it was really Black Africans.
The programable computer was invented by Charles Babage, the electronic computer by Alan Turing. The Phosphor coated cathode ray tube(thats a monitor) invented by William Crookes. Sir Tim Berners-Lee implemented the first successful communication between an HTTP client and server, that would be the internet.
I speak 4 languages, and yet I didn't rob anyone of their language. Why not learn to speak the language of which you were allegedly robbed?
Psssst! How do we know black africans built the pyramids? DNA, discovered by Francis Crick.
All of these gentlemen are British, if you feel so principled about the loss of your language how could you bear to use such an evil white inspired machine? *LMFAO*
MDC and thier foriegn "MASTERS" can not give Zimbabwe the independence Africa needs. Bob stay on ! we pray for you.
Then what can you say about Shekou Turay and France. He drove out the French from Guinea but kept his country going economically strong untill his death. The issue of Mugabe being punished by the west because of land is a smoke gun.The richest African generals are from the Zimbabwean army. The issue here is GREED!GREED!!GREED!!!GREED!!!!
Aggmu5450, Bob is INSANE!!!!!!!!! No sane person can beat people and force them to vote for him! If he knows that voting means whereby someone is making their choice without fear or favour then we would not be saying this.
He is completely insane and does not understand that in an election one can win or lose. To him a loss for him means war to his opponent - what kind of thinking is that? He says only GOD can remove him; what more proof do you want. Bob is INSANE, period!!!!!!!
aggmu5450, excellent response, totally agree with you.
"any wrong doing per se! guilty of some but hardly enough for us to be hard on him?" I dont think there's any need to list the 20 odd thousand plus minor murder incidents or the trivial displacement of a few hundred thousand citizens. This article is an offence to human decency.Callously regarding the taking of a human life as nothing. The AU, mostly a mob all babooning around each other sniffing out who has the most blood on his hands, and yes there are palefaces from the top to the gutter of white man land doing shady business with all of the crackpot despots of black man land. These here are the culprits black and white who need to be brought to heel! Only when we overcome this exaggerated and hate fueled delusion of racism that clouds innocent minds and divides the the will of good people ,will we be able to overcome the real cause of the suffering in the world caused by the color blind afflictions of GREED...ANGER....&STUPIDITY!!!!Lets get our leaders out of the dark carparks and such and get them to do the business in the governing houses of the people.
Western countries want Mugabe ousted from power for two reasons. First, Mugabe sent his military to DR Congo in the 1990's to halt the invasion and occupation of DR Congo by the armies of Rwanda, Burundi, and Uganda. The invasion was financially and militarily sponsored by the United States and England with the aim of effecting a regime change in DR Congo so that western countries would exploit (loot) the natural resources of DR Congo at will. Up until the time of invasion, Mugabe's Zimbabwe had been buying jet fighters for its airforce from England, with an agreement that the sellers of those jet fighters would continually supply the jets' spare parts to Zimbabwe if Zimbabwe needed spare parts. Surprisingly, after Zimbabwe's military intervention to DR Congo, England passed a bill that declared illegal any sale of military equipment, including jet fighters' spare parts, to Zimbabwe. In response, Zimbabwe turned to China, from whence it began to buy military equipment.
Second, the redistribution of the land, which had been illegally acquired and owned by white farmers for years, to Black Zimbabweans is, in the western view, a crime that Mugabe should not have made and for which he cannot be forgiven. Hence the USA and UK's endevour to mobilize the entire world, including the UN, the European Union, the African Union, and individiual governments against Mugabe. However, African leaders know the true motives behind this worldwide mobilization by the USA and UK. Accordingly, the African Union's resolution on Zimbabwe is far from being an endorsement of the joint stand of the USA, UK, and their Western allies on Mugabe's Zimbabwe. And as long as Mugabe has the trust and support of the African governments and of the people represented by these governments, Mugabe's Zimbabwe will not hesitate to tell the Western world "to hang and hang a thousand times".

Exploitation, looting what are you talking about can you survive on you own. so why do you need their money(US DOLLARS), why do you use their technology. Why are Zimbabwean running all over the globe in search of food, health care, wealth and jobs. Urikudya uchiguta thats why you spite rubbish. Dont be insane
TO: REALITY. You need to do a reality check and and wake up from your state of ilussion, and come from front of ur tel lie vision. It was not up to us as africans to choose this man made reality of dependence which we find our self in at the momment. it was forced on to us by the destructive force of slavery, colonialism, and mass brain washing. You should also remember that this exploitive system of governing was not put in place to benifit us africans, it was put in place by theives with the olnly intention to benifit them self. this system was handed to a weak set of african who got no priciples, and only think for them self. Our history has shown us that all true african leader who come to railise this system must be destroy, for the good of future generation was killed, demonise, allienated and made to look as villons from a harrow movie. mugabe being one of these true leaders who stand for the cause of is people, is taking a stand to show africans that the proces of liberation is not wet finnish, and to show us that what have done so far is only a tiny tiny fraction of the liberation proces.
You are just insane and you have no clue of what you talking about. You say Mugabe is a true leader, how so?A true leader doesnt kill his own people,a true leader doesnt make his own people homeless and destitute, and doesnt steal people's livelihoods.A true leader recognises and admits when he makes a mistake, and is willing to accept defeat and change. But what does that old Bob do,he is hanging on to power at the expense of innocent citizens of Zimbabweans who voted him out of power because of his gross mismanagement.I am a Zimbabwean,YOU ARE NOT,so stop your nonsensical stupid comments because you dont know what it is to suffer at the hands of those who are supposed to be your leaders and protectors. We Zimbabweans are forced to flea our own country because of everyday tortures and murders by the security forces who are supposed to protect the citizens, and yet you even have the guts to find time to write those stupid ideas of yours. We have been seperated from our loved ones not by Britain or America but by Mugabe and his Police and Army, why, simply because we have exercised our democratically right to vote for whoever we want to Govern the affairs of our country, and thats why we are in exile, and I bet you have no idea what it is to be a KwereKwere in South Africa. So please if you do not have anything uplifting to say, just keep your stupidity to yourself,Zimbabweans had had enough and we do not want that old bob anymore, thats the reality of the matter.... sucker
Everyone wants Mugabe out, except you
Out for What? for who?? and Who is everyone you mentioned? Time is of the essence.
LIAR!!! You are fobbing again and being your self agin ..the stubborn and persistent one!
Dont listen to Akafunboy, he is dumb. He thinks that the first and second world wars were fought only by the English and the Germans and that no one else was involved. He really needs to go back to primary school and educate himself before his comments have any credence.
Three Heads of States went to hell, Tony Blair, Bush, and mugabe. Tony asked the devil if he could make a call to England to see if the Country is running ok, he made the call, and he stayed on the call for 5 minutes. Satan told him that the bill is 5 million dollars.Bush also asked if he could call the USA, he stayed on the call for 8 Minutes; it cost him $8 million dollars.mugabe said he wanted to call Zimbabwe, he spent 2 HOURS on the call then He asked Satan how much was the bill, and was replied, $1 dollar; he asked, how come, after i stay longer than Blair and Bush. Satan replied, calling from hell to hell is a local call.
Tell me i am wrong if i say no one is the cause of our problems in africa but us.God save mother africa
I think most of the people who feel Mugabe is a victim of the West do not stay in Zimbabwe to have witnesed how evil has been carried out just to make Mugabe stay in power. if the author is from Cameroon then I guess we can forgive him as their democracy is nothing to talk of. If MDC is a puppet of the West then what was ZAPU of the late Joshua Nkomo which suffered untold pain with over 20 000 people killed in cold blood? Wht came of the Unity Accord. Not even compensation or bringing to book the killers but heafty rewards and promotion. Did CNN or BBC create thoe killings. You can only say so much good about Mugabe because you are that far for his machinery knows no friends. Pity you call yourself an African.
Baba is taliking like a Zimbabwean who is in the same country with me. People outside Zimbabwe think we talk fiction, this is our everyday life that we tell.
Gentlemen do you mean other countries that are enjoying good Westen relations are being colonised, countries like South Africa that we assume to have good relations with. Look at their economy, look at Zimbabwe yet some of you guys like JDoser and Mwoyo Chirandu claim that the West that to enslave Zimbabwe. That total non-sense, rubbish if you are making money out of this situation you are afraid that if sanity prevails you will die. Get real, gone are the days to talk about slavery let alone liberation struggle. Is Zimbabwe the only country that went through war what about others so do come on the web to talk rubbish
Mr Tangwe - tell that to the millions of Zimbabweans who are starving to death and who have been forced to flee their country. So, what you are saying is that because many other African leaders have perpetrated atrocities and have caused their countrymen to suffer and die, so it should be acceptable that Mugage (and any othe African leader that comes after him) can do the same? Talk is cheap - what are you personally doing to help the millions of starving and suffering Zimbabweans? It does not help now to say this one is right, and that one is wrong. The reality is that it is not working and millions are suffering. Do you think that is acceptable? To endlessly lay blame leaves you in a position of paralysis and gives you an excuse to stay there indefinitely and, meanwhile, the people are suffering. Have you ever suffered the way they have? Go to South Africa and feed the millions who have been displaced and who are starving. Do something real. A report has just come out that 70% of South Africans live on R1000 per month. That means that after basics of rent and transport to get to work, they are living very far below the breadline. And that does not count the millions of starving Zimbabweans in South Africa. Mugabe and his suffering people are in the spotlight NOW; the other African leaders will be there when their turn comes. To condone the suffering and starvation of millions and to blame it on something outside the government is unconscionable. Even if there are forces outside the country that are trying to topple them, if they are so clever and so smart and so independent, why is what they are doing not working?
WTF are you talking about. Zimbabweans are suffereing and you are blaming BBC and CNN! Outrageous!! Despite the west's criticism of Mugabe, there are still at least 50 companies from Britian alone operating in Zimbabwe. Why don't we as African's ever like to take resposibility for our own actions? If thunder strikes us, we look for someone to blame! Mugabe is a relic of the past trying to cling on to a present he can't comprehend and a future that he will never grasp. Next thing, some one will start comparing his 28 year hold on his country's leadership with other countries' eg( Israel recycle their leaders, Gordon brown didn't win an election etc, etc) So what? If we see it is not right, must we emulate it?. A 28 year old man whose not found his way in life is almost certainly doomed. Africans Arise Against Oppression From Our Leaders
No one that support mugae is say that the people of zimbabwe are not facing a hard time. what we are say is that the the real cause of the hardship that zimabweans are facing is not cause by Mugabe, who lead one of the most prosperous country for over 15 year, we all want zimbabwe to heal. even more than your stupid MDC govenment who think the salution for the hardship is more sanction and military intervention. are you that dol to think that the west will put sanction on the government that lead your contry, and it would not hurt the people of you contry?. you should rember that when the west paint saddam husain and bin laden as demond that needed to get distroy, it was the people of iraq and afganistan how feel the blast of the bombs most. It is unthinking minds like yours that give power to the demond who is trying to eat us all, and make the proces of total liberation for africans harder.
One more thing Mr. Tangwe, you and Mugabe make me ashamed to be an African, along, I must say with several other African 'leaders'. For you Mr. Tangwe, by writing this nonsensical piece, your hands are just as stained by the blood of the thousands of politically murdered Zimbabweans as Mugabe. Think of that when you go to sleep at night. That is if you can sleep.
Only the blind have bought the West's story about Mugabe. He is a true hero and one day the continent is going to regret not having had the spine to support him fully.
What an incredibly insane point of view.
Mugabe was always a corrupt meglomaniac, and a racist.
Right after independence in 1980, he ordered the massacre of thousands of innocent people in Bulawayo.
He will never be considered a hero by anyone other than those with a bias and hatred of the Western world.
I have seen first hand, the suffering he has inflicted on the innocent masses of Zimbabwe, and he must be brought to justice by his own people, and ultimately executed in Harare in plain sight of all those that have survived his oppression.
The so called "war veterans" and all of Mugabe's corrupt cronies will one day pay the ultimate price for getting fat, and laughing at the the destruction of this once beautiful country.
Back in the 1970's, when I marched for equal rights, and was beaten and teargassed, I believed in my soul that the wonderful and peaceful people of Zimbabwe would one day live as a free and prosperous nation.
I now know that the world will sit by and watch Rwanda, Dafur and Zimbabwe suffer, just like they did when Hitler slaughtered so many.
The UN is a sham, and should be dismantled.
All those countries who still have any decency about protecting the innocents, regardless of the costs, draw your line in the sand and stand up and fight for the future of all peaceful innocent people before it is too late for us all.
The responsibility is shared, there is no reaction without action.I agree that two wrongs do not make a right, but the western countries also have their part of responsibility in what is going on in Zimbabwe. They put all these sanctions because they are protecting their interests in that country. How many african leaders are oppressing their citizen and the west have not even blame them not to talk of putting sanctions on them. One has to be naive not to reckon that the west would not fight for us (Africans), they will only protect their interests, they should therefore not put all the blame on President Mugabe,"there is no corrupted without a corruptor". May god protect Africa from all our useless leaders.
It is not said that the west is hated. Those of us in Africa who are busy taking up a second struggle of economic empowerment don't hate the West as you want to believe it. Africa, rightly, only wants to defend itself against the following Western (and others) evils: 1.Abuse 2.Exploitation 3.Disrespect 4.Brainwashing against brothers and sisters 5.Trade protectionist policies 6.Isolation of any African Liberation Movement or country 7.Shaming and many many more unreported disheartening daily practises. Are you not tired of all these?
Do you know what Africans in the continent and those in the Diaspora are going through?? Don't think shallowly only for now. It is clear you have no idea what a Domino Effect is. Don't be absorbed in the west that you forget about your most important features which is Intergrity and Wholeness. No country in the World would survive alone, you hear? But if there are above mentioned evils involved, I will not stand and praise. I will counter-act. Let us mingle gradually to unite Africa. That, now, fellow African, is the Domino Effect for our future Victory. Submit.
Oi Stop Mancam28 ... whats this? You are so unashamedly PATRONISING. Sorry... for you muzungu. You remind me of John Stonehouse MP and Bottomley MP....addresing meetings of the Rhodesia African National Congress at the Cyrill Jennings hall, Highfield, in the early 1960s. How patronising!!!! and Insulting.
Amazing how you can feel patronized and insulted without even having an objective point of view.
It seems to me that you are part of the problem, and not the solution.
You should learn to speak up, and show your true colours, which I suspect is that you are a Mugabe supporter.
I am sure that the suffering people of Zimbabwe are not insulted or patronized. They are hungry, terrified and desperate.
You on the other hand, obviously couldn't care less about these people, but should be bold enough to say so.
You need to know what you are talking about, before you lay your fingers on the keyboard and respond.
I suggest you do a lot more reading and educate yourself about your talking points. IE: Rhodesian African National Congress.
You are assuming I am white, and therefore look at race rather than content. I hear Mugabe is hiring guys like you.
Being insulted, patronized and uneducated is a sorry way to go through life.
Dont listen to Akafunboy, he is dumb. He thinks that the first and second world wars were fought only by the English and the Germans and that no one else was involved. He really needs to go back to primary school and educate himself before his comments have any credence.
While you regret, I will celebrate ndatambura nenhamo enough is enough.
A true hero that slaughtered thousands of his own people.
Heros dont kill innocent people just because they have a different opinion.Mugabe imhata.
ok, your analysis is correct, really, this is nothing new. same thing happened to Iran in the 70's, same is happening in south america, pretty much all over the world. i don't like you putting the blame on 'white' people, as this smells of racism and only makes you sound foolish, as the issue has little to do with skin colour. unfortunately so called western world, has been 'sold' to few large corporations, which decide the policies of entire countries. The only way for a poor country to remain independent, and keep it's resources from being 'stolen', is to sell them. if you try to keep the controll of the resources - oil, metals, diamonds, whatever - a 'coup' will get rid of the 'dictator', and a new one will be set in his place, one that will not mind being robbed be the corporations thet rule the world.... just look at Mr Thatcher and EG..... by engaging other superpowers (Russia, China, India etc) a country can sell it's resources to highest bidder, and have some form of protection, as the 'war' for these resources will be moved from between a poor country vs a huge corporation, to one corp vs another.
In Today's Africa, that is the kind of thinking we will pay attention to. Engaging in mutually beneficial economic cooperation. We have the resources, they come, we talk and all of us share the benefits as business partners. But this "Business" shall close by all means, if my President or fellow African is abused or denied access to fair economic cooperation initiatives (Pres Mugabe)and I will support him/her all the way. You can hate us for it. We won't hate you, we will do business with you. That will sustainably grow Africa.
You are correct. All the thugs on this continent should be pursued with the same "alacrity" as Mugabe. Interesting how you forget the west is equally tough on Burma, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Syria... All part of your white dominated conspiracy? Only when Africans decide to rise up against the criminal mafias that control our governments will we unleash the true potential of our people. We are lucky at least somebody is willing to speak up as this place has far too many apologists too blinded by the events of 40 or 50 years ago to see the destruction their heroes are causing.
How about the two big thugs...George Bush and Tony Blair who invaded another country and butched 600,000 innocent Iraqs what should we do with them? Send them to the Hague to be tried? You are really being a hypocrite.
How about the Germanys, who slaughed the people of Namibia (it's not just the jews..Gypiess too), and never payed for the crime. I'm sick of white anglos who are crying "vengency" when we Zimbabweans forgave you for your colonial racists, murderous, evil white dictatorship? Mugabe forgave you, rather than fry you in a hot pan!
Phiri one good thing you have just said is we forgave the whites, so should the killings of MDC supporters go no so that we willing forgive our fellow brother who are doing that right now. Urikutichii shamwari(what are you saying my friend)
Reality my friend just because the majority of you who use company computers to spread the lies to the world are in urban areas does not give you power to speak on behalf of all the Zimbabweans. What are you talking about? You know it Zimbabwe is free and fair we all know why our country is under attack. Least you did not know Zimbabwe has more than 500Km2 of unprocessed Gold and has more than 3.5million tonnes of crome. In crome deposits we have gold, copper and urranuim deposits. Why them do you think Anglo american corp still wants to invest over US400 million dollars in the Mugabe led Government. Wake up my friend Our country is rich and because you are given a company car a compter and even a laptop to take home a hefty salary you are blinded to what exploitation is being done to your country. Mugabe is saying Zimbabwe should get a majority sahre on any foreign investment. If l continue feeding your family and giving you every basic need would you allow me me to sleep with your wife?

In the human family there are three psychological types of personalities and most Military generals know of them It is vital to them prior to the physical or financial occupation of a Country or Territory. These three Types are (1) The warrior class ---They by nature will defend their family home land to the death conclusion not very easily defeated uncontrollable (2) The nurturing class ---They will bend and go to great lengths to hold their family and country together ---Conclusion-------(compromisers) not trustworthy (c) The opportunist class-----They are driven only by self interest ,(Controllable) makes excellent surrogates They most often have no scruples and will betray friends, family and country for their own personal gains A predatorily Country will always seek out and collaborate with the their targeted country’s opportunistic class, whom they usually use to destabilize the target Country or state. prior to its financial or physical attack on that country. The Opportunistic class will usually serve their Imperial master interest and themselves. They have no interest in serving the greater good of the state or Country and the citizens in it Always be cognizant to the fact that a countries and its peoples interest are always diametrically apposite and is always in conflict with outside Imperial Interest The most diminutive (small) of birds will fight for her young ones in her nest against the owl, all is the fear and nothing is the love… Macbeth
May Mother Africa Protect Mugabe…
I'm sorry, how is this post relevant to this article? Why do you continually cut and paste your comments from one string to the next? What if everyone did that? Do you think that you have written a master piece and the more places your copy it too, the more praise your ego will receive? Do you think your voice needs to be heard 100 times while everyone else just the once? Do you think you are that much more special than everyone else?

Get your facts right Mugabe did not win the war of liberation he only participated in it the real heroes are dead brother. Our fathers and uncles fought there Mugabe and his Zanu pf thugs were busy preparing to steal victory from the real Heroes of the liberation struggle Nkomo and Zapu. That is why he made a silly agreement with White regime at that moment and remember by then Rhodesia was no longer under Britain so in reality they fought against Smith not Britain.
After all Gukurahundi the genocide in Zimbabwe was not done by the WEST. Murambatsina a crackdown on peoples shelters was also not done by the WEST correct me if i am wrong. Further untold human sufferings in Zimbabwe are not done by the WEST. Racism against the white Zimbabweans which our fathers fought against when it was the white man was not inflicted by the WEST. Corruption and inflation is not from the West or is it. A moment ago i was wishing that people like you should be killed but i have realised they should be forgiven and taught the real facts for they do not know what they are doing.
I hope this Got to your head and brain.

Your article is 'right on'. Enough Africans are now awake to the racist evils of European invading thieves and murderers in Africa. And that is why the AU members rightly supported Magnanimous Mugabe, African Hero.
The Patriots of Zimbabwe are rightly determined to re-establish what their ancestors have had for thousands of generations before the was ripped from them by the racist invaders from Europe. The Zimbabwean Patriots are intent on re-establishing Self-determination, Self-development, Self-sufficiency and Self-reliance.
The racist and evil Europeans are still using Africa as a source of plunder. We can see the destructiveness most clearly in the Nigerian Delta and in Gabon, where Africa's oil wealth is being raped to make evil Europeans wealthy and Africans poor and environmentally degraded.
Magnanimous Mugabe is most wise, virtuous and courageous among African leaders. Africans are the longest on the planet. And Africans have been running their own affairs for thousands of generations. Removing the influence of the pale plague of Europe is paramount in Africans becoming self-sufficient once again.
The evil Europeans are a racist and repressive force of evil.
Are Africans, Indians, Chinese, etc demanding tracts of lands in Europe? NO!
Europeans are thieves and murderers who have no rights in Africa, and should be expelled in at least the same way that Africans are now being expelled from the EU, or the Jews were expelled from Europe after 2000 years.
Long live the Patriots of Zimbabwe and of Africa. Africa for Africans!
This article is a slap in the face to all of us Africans. The author seem to insinuate that because Mugabe may not be the worst African leader, he shouldn't be liable for the crime he has commited on humanity. If we are to hold him accountable, we must do so across the board. I agree, but when we talk about Mugabe let's focus on him and not the rest, their own time will come. Also, we should stop blaming the West for everything; we should begin accepting our responsibilities for a change. It is not America, or Europe that denies the Zimbabwe people free and fare election, it is Mugabe; it is not the West doing the killings, it is Mugabe. He may have been done his country some good in the past, but today he is of no use to the country that once admired him. He should be tried for murder.
Spot on brother - wake up Africa!
How much money did Mugabe pay you to write this article? What did he promise you? Certainly not the right to vote for whomever you wished.
His Excellency, The President of Great Zimbabwe, Mambo Robert Gabriell MUGABE does not do no thing. How dare you suggest otherwise. Africa salute him!!!!
Akapfunde, you know how much suffering Mugabe is causing with all the killings and cutting off of limbs etc. How can you ask anyone to salute him? How would you feel if someone said you must salute the racist South Africans and Ian Smith who also killed so many Zimbabweans? You are so insensitive because you are not on the receiving end of the stick. Shame.
Dont listen to Akafunboy, he is dumb. He thinks that the first and second world wars were fought only by the English and the Germans and that no one else was involved. He really needs to go back to primary school and educate himself before his comments have any credence.
Nothing but nothing excuses any government from brutalizing its own people. We all understand the fight against imperialism; against Western paternalism and the right to to African self determination. All these struggles can be fought without brutalizing, starving and creating a nation of beggars. Some of us Zimbabweans believe in this fight but it cannot be done on empty stomachs. These struggles that African leaders regurgitate cannot be undertaken by a malnourished people. Lives were sacrificed for the liberation of Zimbabwe -true. But as one 84 year old grandmother rightfully stated,
'We do not eat blood. Blood does not pay school fees. Blood does not buy medicine.'
May be Zanu-PF eats blood, good for them, but for the rest of us sadza, nyama nemuriwo please. ( maize meal, meat and vegetables)

I'm sorry, but your piece is light on facts. I've been told by a Zimbabwean who was privy to the negotiations on land that Britain did indeed give Mugabe £47 million pounds to purchase land from white farmers, but when he failed to account for the money, they refused to give him any more.
True, the US should not be calling Mugabe out on rigged elections as their last 2 have been as dodgy but without the violence that has characterised Zimbabwe's and if one were to do a straw poll of the African leaders who convened at the AU summit in Sharm el-Sheikh, less than a handful were democratically elected.
But we as Africans need to stop blaming outsiders. Mugabe destroyed Zimbabwe's commercial farming sector by redistributing the land to people who didn't have clue about commercial farming, mainly his cronies. What's more the commerical farms had provided employment for thousand of families, Mugabe's indigenisation put a stop to that. We need to face up to the fact that Mugabe oversaw Zimbabwe's transformation from economic breadbasket to economic basketcase.
And anyway, are you SERIOUSLY suggesting that Zimbabwe's best choice for leader is an EIGHTY FOUR YEAR OLD MAN who dozes off at summits?!
The Zimbabwe electorate rejected Mugabe. He should accept their decision, get over it and use his twilight years to atone for atrocities like Matabeleland and the ongoing state sponsored, military coordinated thuggery.
Talk is cheap indeed! your article seems to be from a man who has eaten poisonous mushrooms. it is first of all void of historical facts and tells me that you rely yourself very much on the cheap information from cheap newspapers sold in the dusty-heat-ridden streets of our continent. Yes, talk is cheap but substance is not. substance is for a selected few and you are not among them. Look around and tell me how many of the 'liberators' who fought with mugabe are still living. when he sent the 'whites' away, he started sending the 'blacks' away. his story can only be understood when one reads George Orwell's masterpiece: The Animal Farm. can you decipher the fact that in the animal kingdom pigs are ruling when lions dare!!!?? when this starts happening, know that something is wrong and something is wrong in africa. dont blame the 'whiteman', it is better for you to refer your race-prone article to the flames!! these are the kind of articles written by a desperate student who has failed to present his assignment on time!
True, Mugabe may have taken the struggle from politics to economics, but he is using the wrong soldiers. You do not use guns to fight an economic war in the 21st century - you use people with knowledge of business and economics. If Mugabe was really fighting for the economic liberation of the country he would have been using the best Zimbabwean technocrats as his economic advisers, not driving them away into exile. The truth is that the man is obsessed with the idea of establishing a one party state, Chinese style, and he is so committed to that project that he is prepared to destroy the country's economy to achieve that goal. Just study the history of his 28 years in power and you will find that Zimbabwe has never known peace whenever Mugabe's one party project has been under serious assault from democratic forces.
let us be very clear as Africans over this. it is not Mugabe's ideologies that we disagree with, it is his methodology. As AFRICANS we need to understand this difference lest we be misled by our own leaders and the west.
I find it this article funny! As a Cameroonian I couldn't help but notice this was written for a Cameroon newspaper. LOL! Yes Cameroonians are the best ones to speak on this topic. Yeah right. We have our own issues first that we need to fix. What does this guy know. All Africans do not feel the same way! A person can only blame the white man for so long! Are we still going to blame them in 50 years? a 100? Come on! It's alot easier to blame others for your failures when you are too embarrased to admit that you need those same people. Remember don't cut of your nose to spite your face!
Yeah it is easier to blame the other lot if their lot are keeping on holding on to something that does not belong to them, eg, the six counties referred to as NORTHERN IRELAND.The Irish want all of Ireland and no peace can be expected. The muzungu should let go of Africa like he did for China and India.!!!The muzungu has gone back to the gulf of Persia and see whats happening .... Let go and stop meddling.
There was peace everywhere the last time I was there.
Dont listen to Akafunboy, he is dumb. He thinks that the first and second world wars were fought only by the English and the Germans and that no one else was involved. He really needs to go back to primary school and educate himself before his comments have any credence.
Indie, grow up man! You are not even a Zimbabwean and yet you have the most to say. Tell us then where do you hail from and why such a great interest in Zimbabwe?
I comment because I have spent a significant amount of time travelling through Zimbabwe, and met some wonderful people. You cant argue that the people on the ground in Zimbabwe are some of the most giving, friendly and inspirational people you will meet. And it annoys me greatly to see people like you justifying their murder and torture at the hands of a genocidal regime. Answer your question Kube? So why do you comment? You've got it so good in New Zealand dont you! Why are you too scared to live in Zimbabwe? You're just a coward Kube, just a spineless coward.
Dear Friend, I am European with residence permit in Cameroon. I recognise Cameroon as my second home. Thank you very much for your comment. Cameroon is great country howewer with many problems which need to be solve. Blaming us - white people doesnt for next 1000 years woudnt´help. Let us find peace for everybody... Greetings to Cameroon from Thailand
Your article(Cameronian) has convinced me once more that it is wrong to stereo-type against a people. Prior to your paper, I had (for years) believed that Cameronians did not have the capacity to think straight. Looking at my past, I may blame it on one Cameronian( I did not know he was one) who worked with me at the kaduna airport in Nigeria. He was an engineer but sounded naive politically. No one seemed to like him except it was time to party since he seemed to know lots of foreighn girls. He told us one day that he was going "home". He claimed "I am going to my country Cameroun" He pissed all of us up in the officers mess with his support for Bakassa against Nigeria. Also, I flew airplanes with two other pilots from Cameroun here in Miami and never liked their halting English. Later, I met a Cameronian in Miami who seemed to act like a child, although, she was 20. She had very rich parents but never bought a car of her own. Guess what? She often asked me if I was going to repair my car(just to make fun of me) despite fact that I am a Prof in the College where she is a student. These minor incidents and the Cameronian affront against Nigeria are the possible reasons for my attitude towards yr people. I am however impressed by your reasoning in your paper. Thanks indeed for opening my mind.
As a black Caribbean woman, for whom white shenanigans hold little mystery, and - to be honest, an ever-declining interest, I am in total agreement with this article.
So much so in fact, that I must voice here my own support of his main thesis, that the LYNCHPIN (...no historically-ghastly pun intended, of course?!...) holding up this whole diabolically relentless anti-Mugabe effort by the West, has its life-and-being in Mugabe's COLONISATION-DEBUNKING COUP, of forcibly, aggressively and by-any-means-necessary RE-CLAIMING his nation's Lands from the post-colonial remnant who still litter the Zimbabwean soil, and RE-TURNING his people's native Lands to those to whom they were originally stolen and/or savagely wrested from: the African peoples.
Go On, Brother Mugabe! The heart's CORE beating beneath every true black skin, THROBS WITH PRIDE, AND SURGES WITH JOY IN YOUR HISTORY-RESHAPING ACCOMPLISHMENTS!
Love and Perennial Loyalty from the Caribbean.
Another racist fool shows her ignorance... this time from the Caribbean.
All you idiots supporting the suffering of innocent Africans by Mugabe, just so that you can say, "Mugabe will show those whites"...morons, the lot of you.
I wish you could feel the pain being felt by the Zimbabwean people...I would love to hear you scream your support for Mugabe, while he starves you to death, beats your family, and steals your freedoms.
Try and fit this into your small mind....."white shenanigans" are not killing Zimbabweans..Mugabe is.
Now, get off the crack pipe, so that you can comprehend the truth.
Zimbabweans would not be suffering as much if it wasn't for the sanctions and bad press engineered by the Western governments through CNN, BBC etc.
Some Zimbabweans who are anti-Mugabe are often reactive immature and often silly. They can only be led but they cannot lead. They are blind to the effect of sanctions and lack understanding of economics, business and politics. Zimbabwe is at war against the West and Zimbabweans are called on to fight whether you agaree with the war or not. The Zimbabweans were only asked to put an "X" on a ballot paper during the last run-off election. This is better than being asked to enlist in the military like the Americans forced their young to die in Vietnam in the 60s and now in Iraq. In the 1940s, Germans and Japanese people were forced to die for their countries whether they agreed with the war or not. Here in Zimbabwe all you have been asked to do to fight for your country is to put an "X" on the ballot paper. Now you call that suffering and there are no bombs falling on your cities- atomic bombs for that matter. Zimbabweans must grow up and stop being softened by the West which has endured more but to be as strong as they are. We don't need puppets running Zimbabwe but strong leadership, better than Mugabe, that can chart a course for Africa being a supperpower within a few decades.
Africa could be a superpower if it got rid of the corruption. The corruption keeps pulling it down and the majority of the time, its Africa's own leaders doing it. Start with good infrastructure instead of filling ones own pockets and Africa will soar!
There is curruption everywhere. There is corruption in US (Iraq War finances, housing crisis, Enron, gas speculations), Russia,Europe etc and things continue to work and why is that? Because the whites do not and never condemn themselves when they do horrible things. Any African who comes up with the corruption excuse is stupid. Corruption is part of the game you have to find ways to work with it just like white people do - you cannot eradicate it totally. Its time they learned how the West was won and how they built the USA and the British Empire. Mugabe is just following the West's (white man) blue print of building a nation and the first order of business in that blue print is "land grab". Zimbabweans have to understand the importance of land just as the whole white world does... They are fighting Mugabe for land with all they have.
I you think the corruption of public money is as bad in the US or UK etc as it is under mugabe and regime, you have not looked at the situation! One small example, what has happened to the $10 million US a year that was given to Zimbabwe by the ICC{cricket board}.It sure has not gone into the cricket ground or development or the players.Just Vanished! What has happened to the large shipment of maize mugabe said he bought from South Africa and was on its way 4+ weeks ago? Just Vanished! How does mugabe afford to build a $26 million US dollar mansion on a public servants salary or did he waste vital money needed for the people of Zimbabwe. Mugabe and regime are spending money that Zimbabwe can not afford at present on things like luxury cars etc.The spend a huge amount more on themselves than there economically successful counter parts around the world. Can you imagine the good it would do for Mugabe to spend the $26 million US he wasted on things like hospitals, instead of wasting it on self gratification! The rest of the world feed the people of Zimbabwe, why could he not spend the $26 million US on food for his people!
As you can see the list goes on.
The above is meant to start "If you think the corruption" typo.
My feeling is that "non Africa" should not interfere in African policies. They should let them fend for themselves. no more hand outs. No more aid. No more food, technology, medical assistance etc. No more peace keeping forces. No more filling the begging bowl. Only then will Africa be able to prove that it can survive on its own.....or not.And nobody else to blame The Zambian president fell ill in an African country. Why was he flown to France for treatment? Just wondered.
That is all good. Non Africans out. There is nothing wrong with helping each other if it is done in the right way. The West must use the same rules that they use on each other not the double standards that we have seen. Example: Economic sanctions were not imposed on USA when George Bush rigged the US presidential elections in 2000. Why is Zimbabwe under economic sanctions now? How was the problem of elections in US in 2000 solved? Obviously it was not economic sanctions or international court of public opinion. Foreign govenments or organisations are not allowed to fund or back political candidates in the US or UK and other western democracies. Why is it that Britain and US are financing the opposition in Zimbabwe?
These are allegations thrown in the court of public opinion. If there are allegations of wrong doing then there must be an investigation to find real evidence of wrong doing. If there is evidence of wrong doing then charges ought to be filed and then we have trial. No one should be above the law. Everyone is entitled to due process. You are interested only in smear campaign of endless allegations. This in itself is corruption and one of the things that plague Africa: the insatiable appetite for allegations and suspicions. Only a judge in a court of law has the right to pronounce guilt or innocence. If Mugabe and ZPF's goal was to fill their pockets with money there are easier ways to do it like take bribes from white farmers in exchange of them keeping some farms. Cut govt. spending on schools. But a much easier way; just do what the IMF wants cut government spending and let all those international business cooperations come in and do as they please without any restrictions. By the time its all done you will be retired with a nice fat Swiss bank account and a mansion somewhere in Europe.
West,
These are allegations thrown in the court of public opinion.

Rubbish the bribes from farmers would not even pay his car fleet bill, let alone the millions in US dollars they have outside the country. Yes an International court of law!
It will all come out sooner or later and i know mugabe and regime will be shown as the thieves they are!
As you can see, the world is divided about this and compromise needs to be reached. This battle will go on years after Mugabe is long gone. It is about land and fairness. It is about Africans owning and controlling their means of production and their economy. Having 2% whites owning 70% of the land will not go unchallenged even if Tsvangirai's government reverses the land reform.
Come someone please tell me where Tsvangirai has even said he will reverse the land reform? I think you'll find this is just lies designed by Mugabe to create an enemy of Zimbabwe.
WELL COMMENTED !!!
My comment is coming rather late, but not so late that i should keep quiet. I'd beg to differ with the author of the passage and say He is definately INSANE. You still must convince me that he's sane.. watching people die and stepping on their skeletons to power. Others die of poverty while he shops in SA for more than RSA10,000.00, others he kills literary! that disease he has has got a name, all he needs to do is go to a psych clinic. Someone who'll take a lonesome race and still thinks he's won, wait a minute i'd call him a schizophrenic unclassified as yet! For all the benefits you have enjoyed in His government it is no wonder you use this website to praise him for what? point out to one thing good that's he's done; snatch land from other people and give it to others leaving them dead! Excuse me. I wonder how mushc he's paid you for writing this goodly publication for him. He'll reap what he's sowing... one day his militia will rape his grand children. For all i know someone who's challenged God to oust him will surely get exactly what he's asked for. It won't be nice... for his family, coz as for him he might die b4 reaping the consquences of his blood pool, but his wife and generation will suffer. As for westernising the whole thing, is another sign of insanity. Let's assume for a while that that is true, where in the wordld have u seen westerners killing each other, rather killing their own, fill me in! You need to be really sane to believe the article.
YN,
You seem to have gotten amnesia about European and American history but let me refresh your mind before you continue pointing your finger at black people. It was about 60 yrs ago when a German guy killed over 6 million Jews confiscating their properties. The land grab in the out West in USA against American Natives resulting mass killings of the natives eliminating entire tribes. American whites killed each other over land with guns. Why do you think the likes of Billy the Kid got so popular in American culture? You should also read about Rhodesia and its land grab which left thousands dead. Recently George Bush has caused, killed and displaced more than a million people in Iraq for oil. YES THE WORLD IS INSANE. Don’t just single out Mugabe.
The people of Zimbabwe are suffering because of economic sanctions imposed by the West. The sanctions are supposed to make Zimbabweans suffer so they will be coerced into violence and rejection of the Mugabe’s government. Your take on the situation is exact product (thinking) that Washington and London would like you to have.
Yes, one of the things good Mugabe did was take the land, land reform, and that comes straight form the Western Civilizations blue print or play book.
Yes and the only sort of close history you talk of is 60 years ago and it is the scum Hitler. The world stood together to rid the world of Hitler. The land grabs you talk of in the US happened 200 years ago and the thinking of the US,UK,China,Russia has changed dramatically in the last 50 years.China and Russia have now joined the UK and US in changing to democracy. If your going to look back at history and use it to view things in the modern world, atleast keep it 30 years or so.There is no point in looking back in history if it does not reflect the thinking of the present day. There are many bad things in black and white history, but the Good people of today are not a reflexion of the bad old days. mugabe and regime use 1800's history to justify his 1800's mentality in 2008.
History repeats itself and it is naïve to think otherwise. When George Bush and Tony Blair rolled into Iraq five years ago based on lies I was more than convinced nothing has changed, it has only gotten sophisticated. Gordon Brown and George Bush can’t tell the truth. People in Zimbabwe suffer
Bob has never been insane. The real culprits are certainly those who ravage and savage Zimbabwe and Africa to feed their own. They continue to refine the concept of slavery and exploitation to ensure their posterity have a comfortable future while ours lose theirs.Bob has been demonised for exposing the perpetuation of the plundering and exploitation of Zimbabwe. What business do the west have in deciding who should lead Zimbabwe? Is it for our good or theirs? Use your heads or remain the unthinking, unliberated black slave that the west want you to be. Of course they wont "attack" you for parroting their voice.
