Francis Okuku's passion was to become a medical doctor. But his fate was sealed by the widespread shortage of ophthalmologists (eye doctors) in the country. He lost his sight to cataract, an eye defect caused by exposure to radiation, effects of diabetes and hypertension or eye injury.
