ITN Universal coverage proposed for Uganda is a good idea to malaria
control and prevention. For this move to bear the expected effects and
impact on malaria in Uganda community Needs Assessment should have been
done to establish various community preferences on the nets as per colour,
shape, size, net materials and type/size/shape of houses pepople sleep in.
This will prpomte the acceptance and utilization of the nets. What ever
steps are are taken not 100% of the pepole in Uganda will be using the
nets. Therefore to avoid loopholes and pockets of malaria infection within
a particular community. I recommend that distribution of nets to any
community should be conducted concurrently with other Uganda malaria
approved interventions such case management, IRS and Information, Education
and Communication.
