Eritrea: Administrator Stresses Need for Coordinated Effort in Implementing Development Projects

The Administrator of Anseba region, Ms. Salma Hassan, stressed the need for coordinated endeavors towards the effective implementation of development projects. Ms. Salma made the remarks in a meeting she conducted with development partners regarding assessment of the programs undertaken over the past four months and chart future work program.
Underlining the significance of active community participation in the implementation of projects, the Administrator outlined the major accomplishments registered with popular participation over the past few years. She further indicated that priority attention would be given to reinforcing endeavors aimed at achieving food security and ensuring the provision of potable water supply. The implementation of different development programs, including the construction of micro-dams and water reservoirs, soil and water conservation, introduction of smokeless ovens and putting in place of school facilities are also underway, Ms. Salma added.
Following discussion of the work report, the participants of the meeting adopted a number of resolutions and recommendations, including the need for implementing projects on time and proper coordination to this end, among others.
