There is ample potential for future growth in the telecoms market in Sierra Leone predicts world's largest market research resource.
Research and Markets Limited, with over 385,000 reports, last week announced the addition of Sierra Leone - Telecoms Market Overview, Statistics & Forecasts to their offering.
The research firm states that following more than a decade of civil war, Sierra Leone has enjoyed peace and stability since 2002. "The country's traditional telecommunications infrastructure has suffered damage and neglect, but the mobile sector has experienced excellent growth with now five GSM networks competing for customers. However, a rapidly declining Average Revenue per User (ARPU) is forcing the operators to improve their services and find new revenue streams," it wrote.
Research and Markets Limited also mentioned that wireless broadband services have been introduced, providing Internet access and VoIP Internet telephony.
In the end, the firm claims that 'penetration rates in all market segments are still very low, leaving ample potential for future growth.' Accordingly, the full report has been made available to the business world at prices ranging from 93 euro to 372 euro depending on the order format. The full report contains the following: 1. Sounds good and I doff my hats to the Minister of Information for achieving all this. With due respect, we do not need the growth in Telecoms Industry, but growth of our Agricultural Base, or we might head for a straight starvation.
