Nigeria: Court Jails 11 for Nude Dancing

A mobile court sitting in Railway Station in Kano has sentenced nine people to four months imprisonment or a N10, 000 option of fine for nude dancing in the state.
The convicts were arrested in Star Light Hotel, Sabon Gari while performing strip dancing. The officials of the state censorship board who arrested said the culprits were performing naked dance and other practices that are contrary to the law.
The presiding magistrate, Muntari Ahmad, said their offence is contrary to section 97 (d) of the State Censorship Act 2001, which prohibits any form of exhibition capable of corrupting public morals in the state.
Testifying before the court, the convicts said although they operated in Kano but they were not Kano indigenes. Findings show that most of them came from Plateau, Borno and Benue States. The convicts were Hajiyayye Maiduguri, Aisha Abdullahi, Maimuna Abdullahi, Amina Adamu and Sumayya Muhammad. Others were Atiku Badamasi, Nazifi Halliru, Ibrahim Sale, Ibrahim Zubairu, Ibrahim Umar and Badaru Ahmad.
Nude dancing, called, go-go dancing, here in Miami Florida USA, is a nice form of entertainment that bodes well for both the giver(the models) and the receiver(patrons). When I was in college(one of the top schools in the world) some of the best and brightest(both male and female) of my school mates were in the trade.
