They include Panthere of Bangante, AS Matelots and Danay FC.

Panthere of Bangante alias 'Nzuimanto' is coming back to the first division after eight long years of absence. They got their entry ticket into division one at the 11th hour on the last day of play of the new-look MTN Elite two championship. Three teams were tied at the top of zone II with 26 points each and it was only on goal difference advantage that the Nzuimanto emerged out of water. The 1988 Cameroon cup winners made their comeback to the first division despite a season that was plagued with financial hardships, thanks to the efforts of the club president Theophile Noussa who, together with Robert Wandji, bore the brunt of the club.

Contrary to Panthere who have been in the first division before, AS Matelots are in for their maiden experience in the elite championship. After two unsuccessful attempts through the interpool competition, Danay FC of Yagoua made their way to the first division in flying colours. The Boys of President Ahmadou Nana topped Zone I with 29 points, four points ahead of their immediate challenger, Scorpion of Mbe.

AS Matelots in Zone III equally got their entry ticket into division one before the last day of play. The shipyard workers of Douala who were barred from the first division last year by their fellow brothers of the Littoral province, Caiman, topped Zone III with 27 points, six points ahead of their closest rival, Douala AC. According to the club president, Benjamin Djoumessi, the ascension of AS Matelots to the first division is the fruit of team work.
