The governor of Angola's Reserve Bank (BNA), Amadeu Maurício, Tuesday in Luanda said he hopes for the reinforcement of cooperation existing between Angola and the United States of America in the field of staff training.

Amadeu Maurício said so to the press at the end of a meeting with the US undersecretary of State for economic, energy and cultural affairs, Reuben Jeffery.

According to the governor, there were no specific promises at the courtesy meeting, but he hopes that there is a reinforcement of cooperation for training of BNA staff.

Apart from matters relating to cooperation between both countries, Amadeu Maurício and Reuben Jeffery shared views on Angola's economic growth and perspectives for the future.

On Tuesday too, the US official met with the CEO of Angolan Oil company, Sonangola, Manuel Vicente, with whom he discussed issues relating to the international energy crisis.

Reuben Jeffery, who paid a 24-hour visit to the country, met, on his first day of work in Angola, with the assistant minister of the prime minister, Aguinaldo Jaime, having discussed the preparation of the legislative elections in Angola, set for September 05 this year.

The two officials also analysed "the challenges of diversifying the Angolan economy and the government's efforts to guarantee the wellbeing of the populations".
