A Tema-based private first cycle institution, Creator School Limited, located at Community Four (4), has donated assorted items worth GH¢5,000 (50 million old cedis), to two educational institutions.
The School for the Deaf, located at Adjei-Kojo in the Ashaiman Municipal area, received two big sized poly-tanks, five (5) wheel barrows, five (5) rakes, 30 machetes, 25 hoes, five (5) shovels and five (5) spades, at an estimated cost of GH¢2,000 (20 million old cedis).
The Happy Home Academy, located at Tema Newtown, on its part, received 22 wooden chairs, 24 tables and 1,500 pieces of Ghanaian Language (Ga) text books, estimated at a cost of GH¢3,000 (30 million old cedis).
Presenting the items on behalf of the school, Madam Comfort Adjarko Chemfer, Proprietor of Creator School Limited, said the presentation, which formed part of the school's 25th Anniversary, was a token of the love and partnership, her school wanted to share with the two schools.
Madam Adjarko Chemfer, who believes the items, will benefit children in the two schools, both in environmental sanitation and academic performance, advised the children to maintain the items, and put them to good use.
Mr. Michael Cudjoe, Headmaster of the School for the Deaf, expressed his school's appreciation for the kind gesture, and the hand of partnership extended to his school by the Creator School, and observed that the items will help to keep their environment clean, in order to free the school children of diseases.
He explained that the school, which has a pupil population of 260, is confronted with a number of challenges, which includes poor academic performance, especially in languages.
He, however, disclosed that the major challenge they face as a school, is the fast pace at which people are encroaching upon the school's parcel of land surrounding it, which according to him, has become a struggle all over Adjei Kodjo.
He further explained that as a result of lack of transportation, to and from the school, the school is compelled to start academic lessons at 9:00 am, instead of 7:00, thus hampering the smooth running of academic work in the school.
Mr. Kudjo, therefore, appealed to Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), companies, organizations, stakeholders and individuals, to come to the aid of the school, to help them raise funds to complete a project the government had already started, and which needs to be completed.
On her part, Madam Cecilia Afraim, the Headmistress of Happy Home Academy, also expressed her profound gratitude to the School for their kind gesture, especially the 1,500 Ga text books, which according to her, was very difficult to get on the open market.
he, however, lamented over the state of infrastructure, especially the poor road network in their locality, making the journey to the school very difficult for the school children. She was also not happy about the rate at which parents of children in the school, pay the school fees of their wards, because according to him, it was very difficult when it came to the collection of fees, perhaps because most parents do not understand the value of education.

Explaining further, Madam Afraim noted, for example, that when the school children are asked to bring teaching aids to school, they go home and return empty handed.
