The newly installed Northwest Representative of the Order of Civil Engineers, Patrice Ngu Ndiangang, has been told to respect laws governing that profession.
While installing the Civil Engineers Representative on July 18 in Bamenda, Northwest Governor, Abakar Ahamat, called on him to carryout his functions as prescribed by law. He also reminded him to play the role of a facilitator and to direct the collection and transmission of information from other Civil Engineers in the Province.
Among other things, the Ngu was charged with organising sensitisation campaigns, enhance growth within the province, enforce the texts organising the profession and ensure publicity and distribution of annual list of Civil Engineers registered in the Order to the administration, public and private corporations in the Province.
Speaking to The Post after the installation, Ngu said his preoccupation is to have high standards. While decrying the presence of quacks in the province, he said he would ensure that contracts are executed by qualified engineers. He called on his colleagues in the Province to join him so that they carry out lasting development projects.
