Abuja and Kaduna — The leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky, who arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, from India, yesterday afternoon, was whisked away on arrival and taken into custody by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).
On the same day, the federal government issued a statement claiming that El-Zakzaky was planning to seek asylum in an unnamed country, adding that his actions in India demonstrated malicious intents that were capable of embarrassing the governments of Nigeria and India.
