GE in Africa in 2016 and What's Next for GE in 2017

Milestones for GE Africa in 2016 include the launch of the African Innovation Center in Johannesburg, winning awards for work on the Medupi Power Plant in South Africa and the Hamma Water Desalination Plant in Algeria, the official launch of GE Garages, Lagos, carrying out a first-of-its-kind in Africa upgrade on the Nubaria Power Plant in Egypt and a landmark repair at the Dangote cement plant in Obajana. GE was also involved in projects to alleviate power shortage in Ghana, the realization of the new Nelson Mandela Children's Hospital in South Africa, and GE continues to sponsor the Energy & Infrastructure category of the CNN African Journalist Awards. These achievements and more were the realization of GE's $2 billion investment in Africa (read Report Card), and it all happened during a year that marked the company's transformation into the world's largest digital industrial company.
