WHEN: 25th - 26th June, 2019

The African Development Bank will hold the 3rd edition of the Africa Energy Marketplace (AEMP) from 25th to 26th June, 2019 at the Bank's CCIA building in Abidjan.

The Africa Energy Market Place is the Bank's energy sector platform, designed to remove barriers to private sector investments in energy, and accelerate energy sector reforms and project execution. The AEMP achieves its goals by convening government, private sector, development partners, and energy sector stakeholders to address investment risks and bottlenecks through knowledge exchange, networking, and peer-to-peer learning.

Over 300 participants, comprising governments, senior leaders in the energy sector and development finance institutions, including Power Africa, Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA), International Finance Corporation (IFC), World Bank (WB), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the European Investment Bank (EIB), among others, are expected to attend this meeting.

The two-day event will entail boardroom meetings, panels, bilateral meetings, partner side sessions and networking. In addition, various knowledge events will focus on project preparation, transmission and energy finance, and energy sector regulation.

The 2019 edition of the AEMP will also give nuanced focus on sector issues in Angola, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, and Madagascar.
